THINGS TO DO

BEACHES

Macaroni Beach is the most famous of Mustique’s beaches and has big waves for body surfing. Lagoon is more secluded and is on the Caribbean side of the island so perfect for small children, as is the Cotton House Beach (Endeavour Bay). Geliceaux is also beautiful. Pasture Bay is unsuitable for swimming.

COCKTAIL PARTY

The Mustique Company hosts a Cocktail Party every Tuesday night at the Cotton House Hotel in the Great Room. All guests on the island are invited. Dress is casual.

WATER SPORTS

There is a Diving School on the Cotton House Beach where you can do a PADI course or be taken on a dive. You can also book Island Boat tours, sailing, kayaking, windsurfing and snorkeling.

SNORKELING

Excellent snorkeling to the right of the jetty at Cotton House Beach and on the corner of Britannia Bay towards Lagoon.

FISHING

Sport and leisure fishing can be arranged. Spear fishing is not allowed.

TENNIS

There are six excellent floodlit courts very near the house which are free. Call the operator on 8000 to reserve a court. Tennis coaching is available with Richard Schaffer, the resident pro.

VOLLEYBALL COURT

Located at Macaroni Beach.

HORSE RIDING

The ‘Mustique Equestrian Centre’ is just across the road from Grasshopper’s drive, there are several fine horses and a great way to see the island. Pony camps are organized in the high season for children and lessons are also available.

WALKING

There are several walks on the island; an amazing one is from Obsidian Bay to Pasture Bay past the ‘Bat Cave’ (if you can spot it).

DAY TRIPS

Sailing trips to Bequia or Canouan; outings to Tobago Cays, Petit St Vincent, Palm Island and Mayreau or in a speed boat to the waterfalls in St Vincent or up the volcano is a fun way of having a day out.

SPA AND FITNESS CENTRE

The Cotton House Spa is next to the Beach Café on the Cotton House Beach, there is a fully-equipped gym and several treatment rooms where you can have massage and beauty treatments. Book early.

CINEMA

There is a film on Friday evenings for children (with popcorn) and Saturday evenings for adults outside the Spa on the lawn.

PICNICS

There are several picnic tables on the beaches around the island which can all be booked through the Mustique Company. Most beaches have a barbecue you can use.

CHILDREN

Children are very welcome on the island and cots and high chairs are available on request. Professional Nannies, live-in or daily can be booked in advance of your stay. The Lady Royston Playground is behind the Bamboo Church and storytime sometimes on Thursday afternoons at the Mustique Primary School.
